Interactive-Replicable-Transportable

PLUG & DISPLAY is an assemblable and disassemble modular structure that has been designed to facilitate the exhibition of new media artists, in any context. It has been designed to provide a flexible space that could be able to adapt to their activities during an exhibition. Master's thesis project at the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC) by Cristina Pardo Pajuelo, under the supervision of Vicente Guallart.

This research will apply a method based on a model of work that link architecture, art and technology, by using local resources and promoting the participation of artists and Fab Lab community. PLUG & DISPLAY will supply a new atmosphere for art exhibitions, will boost the interaction between artists, their audience and their environment. A series of sessions with artists, curator, cultural managers and the architect, has engaged all the participants in the design process of the modules and adapt their exhibitions to the proposal structure; easy to fabricate, install and transport.

PLUG & DISPLAY is a project developed as a system to be reproduce by cultural centers, artists, and manufacturing spaces to simplify process in the exhibition of new media art.
